Shelving and light are
the same thing

Shelving without light is a steel frame. Shelving with light is selling space. So we plan the two together — 11 Wanzl shelving models for the sales floor and 4 ACE SITHA LED models for under-shelf and chiller use. One quotation, one installation.

Why plan them together

Order them separately, pay twice

Most stores buy the shelving first and look for lighting afterwards. The result is light rails that do not line up with the slot pitch of the uprights: extra drilling, cabling run a second time, and two visits from the fitters. That second visit usually costs more than the lights themselves.

Every Wanzl shelving model has a fixed, published slot pitch — 50 millimetres on WS-01 and WS-03, 25 millimetres on WS-02 and the category-specific ranges. Know that figure at the design stage and the rail positions, the run lengths and the power connections are set along with the shelf layout, not after the shelving is standing.

The plan above shows what sits where, but it cannot show why the lighting positions are fixed along with the shelves, because a plan has no vertical axis. Below is an elevation and a section through a single WS-01 bay: the column of slots in the upright, the shelves locked into those slots, and a light rail under every shelf on the same pitch.

What you get by ordering them together

One drawing — shelf positions and light positions on the same sheet, so the electricians and the shelving fitters work from the same document · One delivery — everything reaches site together, with no shelving in storage waiting for lights and no lights waiting for shelving · One point of responsibility — if the lighting does not fit the shelves, we put it right; there is no second supplier to pass it to

Chillers follow the same logic, but the variables change from slot pitch to the temperature range the cabinet actually runs at and where the light has to sit. The first decides between SLK, rated −20 to +25 °C, and SRL, rated −30 to +35 °C. The second decides between an under-shelf unit and a door-frame unit. Both are IP65 units, and a dry-zone under-shelf model cannot be used instead.
