Wire Tech

A modular shelving system for the retail sales floor, with height, depth and upright spacing chosen independently. Wire Tech works on a 50 mm shelf pitch; Wire Tech 100 works on a finer 25 mm pitch and goes together without tools. Mounting the back panel on the centreline of the upright adds up to 13% more display area.

The upright spacings in the table are taken from the Wanzl Wire Tech and Wire Tech 100 catalogues, which list four sizes. The Wanzl Shelving Book lists a fifth spacing of 800 mm for the same system, under the names WS-01 and WS-02. Please confirm the sizes you can order with our sales team before you lay out the store.

Full use of the space — more selling area, product that stands out
Wire Tech mounts the back panel on the centreline of the upright instead of hanging it behind, which removes the wasted depth and adds up to 13% more usable display area. The shelves are open wire, so customers can see through to the product on the next shelf and keep noticing it all the way down the aisle.

Comparing the two Wire Tech systems
Wire Tech is Wanzl's original retail shelving system, built around a wide choice of shelf finishes and gondola ends, which gives the store designer room to work. Its shelf pitch is 50 mm. Wire Tech 100 takes the same system further: a finer 25 mm pitch, a slimmer beam face, and quick assembly without tools. Base components and wire shelves are interchangeable between the two.
Gondola ends in a choice of shapes
Wire Tech offers 180-degree, angular, straight, pre-assembled and concave or convex gondola ends — enough to shape an aisle into a curve, a circle or an island that pulls the eye.
Wire Tech 100 offers top-shelf, 180-degree, straight and frame-type gondola ends, with clean lines and nothing but modular components.
Back panels in five types
Wire mesh takes hooks anywhere on the panel. Solid wood gives a warm surface. Fine mesh carries hooks for small items. Flat sheet steel holds magnetic media across the whole face, and magnetic-receptive film suits stores that change their advertising often.
Shelves in four materials, plus LED
Wire shelves are light and open, so you can see down to the shelf below. Glass shelves read as premium and suit spirits and cosmetics. Wooden shelves give a warm surface for bakery, wine and organic lines. Sheet steel shelves are easy to clean. And LED lighting can be added to any shelf to make the product stand out.
Assembly — Wire Tech 100 needs no tools
A complete Wire Tech 100 bay goes together in a few minutes without a single tool, so shelf heights can be changed for a promotional season, or a whole department re-laid, without calling in a fitter. Because the pitch is a multiple of 25 mm, levels can be set to the European 400 and 600 mm packaging modules that most cartons are based on. Wire Tech adjusts every 50 mm, and shares its base components and wire shelves with Wire Tech 100.
Finishes to suit the store
Choose a colour by RAL code, powder coated or zinc plated, and mix wire, sheet steel, wooden and glass shelves within the same bay. One system therefore covers pharmacy, household goods, cosmetics, fresh food, drinks and fashion, through to wine and cigars.
